What is the oxygen plant set up cost in India?

The cost of setting up an oxygen plant in India can vary significantly depending on the capacity, type of technology used, and location. Generally, the cost of setting up an oxygen plant in India ranges from a few lakhs to several crores of rupees. For example, a small oxygen plant with a capacity of 6 cubic meters per hour may cost around Rs. 30-35 lakhs, while a larger plant with a capacity of 40 cubic meters per hour may cost 1.25 crores of rupees.

The cost may also be impacted by the type of technology used, as PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) technology has advanced over time. Other factors that can affect the cost include land, construction, and labor costs, as well as the cost of utilities such as electricity and water.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, many hospitals purchased PSA machines that were available at the time, but unfortunately, many of these plants have since failed due to inexperience and obsolete technology. Low purity, low pressure, high electricity costs, and frequent breakdowns are some of the challenges that hospitals are facing due to these machines.

Medvante India, in collaboration with Mentis Turkey, has developed an energy-efficient PSA plant after more than 20 years of extensive research. This plant produces a constant purity of 95-99% with an outlet pressure of 6 bar. More than 22 projects have been successfully executed, and the number is still growing.
